Micro Weddings & Elopements in Philadephia

Whether it’s current social restrictions due to the pandemic or you’ve just decided a more intimate wedding is way more your speed,  micro weddings can be a stunning and unique choice for your nuptials. Even if you choose to have a small number of people, or a shorter affair, you should still get the wedding photos of your dreams! That’s why we’ve put together options for short n’ sweet wedding days.

What is a Micro Wedding?

A micro wedding is an intimate affair, typically with no more than 50 guests. They still feature time-honored traditions that make a wedding but on a much smaller scale. The beauty of the micro-wedding is that it can fit whatever suits your vision. Whether it is in a city, a private house, or even camping or other outdoor adventures, an intimate wedding actually has many “venues” to get creative in that you wouldn’t otherwise do for a 200 person gust list.

What is an Elopement?

An elopement is typically marriage conducted without the knowledge of the couple's family and friends, particularly their parents. However in modern days, the wedding is at times revealed prior but still conducted with only a few people in attendance. And while you’re likely forgoing a LOT of the traditional wedding expenses , one area not to be skimped on are your photos. After all, it’s a perfect way to show off the moments of your private day to all those who weren’t present.

Small Ceremonies, Big Emotion

For a smaller wedding, it’s important you and your partner decide on the essentials, especially surrounding the ceremony itself. Deciding who is marrying you, if you will incorporate religion or not, and where you will say “I do” are good things to discuss during the planning phase.

For some couples, their must-have can be a particular location that holds sentimental value, like your first date or first kiss. Be sure to visit it during the time of day you may want to get married as well, to understand how it will look. Courthouse, private residences, parks, restaurants, and even campgrounds can all be great micro ceremony choices depending on your style.

Wedding and Elopement Portraits

Perhaps one of best parts of hosting an intimate affair is a lot more time for portraits. What a fun time to spend with your partner in locations of your choosing for beautiful photos of the two of you. Most couples opt to do a first look which is a fun start to your portrait session!
