Black Tie Wedding at Tendenza by Cescaphe

Courtney and Ric’s Tendenza wedding was definitely the best way to end our 2019 season. It was a cold December day, but with Philadelphia lit up for the holidays, we got some amazing images.

Courtney and Ric both got ready for their big day at their respective parents’ houses- we always love this personal touch for wedding photos. Courtney’s girls helped her look picture perfect, and Ric’s dad opened a really old bottle of champagne to celebrate the occasion. After the guys were finished getting ready, we departed a bit early for the church, which allowed us to get some really epic images in an empty church.

We met at Holy Family church in New Jersey for their beautiful ceremony - a family church with a lot of meaning to the couple. While the flower girls stole the show, Courtney refocused the attention on her as she was escorted by her father down the aisle. The modern angles and vast ceiling make this church really unique, and really fun to photograph. Courtney could hardly contain her smile as the couple celebrated their nuptials with a lot of Catholic tradition.

After the ceremony, we made our way back to Center City for some must-have photos around Philadelphia City Hall. You guys, it was cold. But Courtney and Ric braved the weather and to snag lots of outdoor portraits in this beautiful city. We were even treated with a big Christmas tree, since the holiday was only a few days away!

After the couple’s photos concluded, it was time to head to Tendenza for their cocktail hour. As guests poured into the Tendenza wedding space, Courtney, Ric and their bridal party enjoyed the private suite, as well as gave us time to snag a stunning bridal party image on the bar.

The reception was so much fun. After the couple made their grand entrance, and few lovely speeches from parents and friends, the DJ lead the group to pack the dance floor. But there was one big surprise - Courtney hired the Villanova wildcat for her new husband! Everyone wanted a chance to dance to with him and the photos tell why. Tendenza’s signature flambe station was a huge hit, and the photo booth kept everyone smiling all night.
