Stunning Villanova Church Wedding + Backyard Reception

In 2019, we met Amy and Matt by way of a former client, Caitlin and Frank. They were planning a stunning wedding at a Villanova church with a reception at the Philadelphia Country Club, However has COVID rolled in, the big reception would have to wait, but Amy and Matt still wanted to get married on their original date.

We started by meeting Amy and her parent’s home in Allentown. It was the perfect set-up for preparations, as all her ladies gathered to help ensure Amy’s day was flawless. Nearby, Matt hung with his guys in a hotel before we all met at St Thomas Church in Villanova. Guests gathered to watch Amy and Matt say I do, and then we used the stunning church as a backdrop for many of their portraits.

The downsized reception took place at Amy’s parents’s backyard, where they all celebrated the Kentucky Derby in style. While Amy’s grandparents couldn’t physically make the occasional, they Face-timed with them so her grandfather could serenade the crowd with “My Old Kentucky Home” before the derby started. Mint julips and side-bets were flowing for the race, and after some formal dances under the string lights, we concluded the evening with a great dinner under the tent. It was a perfect day.
