Philly-Inspired Reading Terminal Market Wedding

It’s not a secret that we were super jazzed to photograph this Reading Terminal Market wedding. A wedding where the guests can go around to different food stands and choose their dinner bites? Yes please. A wedding where the DJ doesn’t play the same old wedding songs yet still rocks the house so hard, even we dance? Yeah, bring it on. Let’s not forget how amazing it is to work with a couple so laid back and chill- and that’s Kelly and Frank.

Kelly and Frank started wedding day with some relaxed prep. Frank with his guys at the home he and Kelly share in South Philly, and Kelly at the downtown Marriott. Kelly’s crew had fun poppin’ bottles while she got ready - and her simple yet elegant look was so true to herself. Meanwhile, Frank’s guys donned some pink socks to match the subtle pink theme Kelly chose, before walking to the subway to make our way to Center City for the big reveal.

We absolutely adore shooting weddings at City Hall in Philly, and we find ourselves there often. We picked the south Broad street entrance for their first look, and Frank’s reaction was perfect. After snapping a few images, we hit up the various areas of City Hall before heading to the venue. Even though the Market was still open, we managed to get some grocery-inspired photos before Reading Terminal Market closed to transform for Kelly and Frank’s wedding ceremony.

We have to say, we were pretty in awe of seeing Reading Terminal Market transform into a wedding venue. The market stays open as normal, and so only evening weddings can take place - while the catering crew has 1 hour to flip it into a gorgeous, unique space for nuptials. Frank was escorted by his parents, and Kelly her dad. Their hand-written vows moved everybody, and after a sweet first kiss, they were officially married!

Reading Terminal Market is the ultimate choose-your-own-adventure reception. Guests choose from multiple food stations in the market for their dining experience, and Kelly and Frank opted away from doing any formal seating bc of this. They did however kick off their party with some epic entrances and dances, and after a solid cocktail hour, the crowd was very ready to party. DJ Flo kept the party going strong until the bitter end, and the photo booth didn’t get much of a break at all! Thank you Kelly and Frank for having us capture your epic Reading Terminal Market wedding!
