Stylish Wedding at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Wedding (PAFA)

If you’re lucky enough to have a PAFA wedding, like Ben and Caroline were, you won’t regret it.

When we first moved to Philly in 2016, we decided to try to make new friends by attending a Meet Up group at a trivia night. The first couple to sit across from us: Caroline and Ben. Not only did we win at trivia that night, but won a new set of friends. Countless dinners, drinks and Philly fun later, we found ourselves at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts to capture their wedding.

We were honored and thrilled to be their photographers, and the PAFA wedding they put on did not disappoint! The couple had a very chill getting ready session at the Loews Hotel, that include wine with friends, gift exchanges and a lot of laughs.

The Loews has stunning views of the city from a top floor. We knew it was perfect for their first look. After wiping Ben’s tears we headed to the LOVE sculpture for some beautiful couple and bridal party portraits. But we spent the majority of our time at PAFA to make some art of our own with this stunning couple. PAFA weddings are so unique, with multiple art installations to serve as a backdrop for photos. They also have private access to a roof deck, weather permitting!

Then it was time to start the ceremony. PAFA wedding ceremonies are so beautiful and grand. As you descend down a staircase, guests watch you say I do from the balcony above. Ben and Caroline exchanged emotional personal vows and even though Ben’s brother left the rings in another room, he was able to retrieve them in time to make it official.

Ben and Caroline DIY’d a lot of their details, and we just love these personal touches. The simple blue theme throughout was perfect. Ben’s mom and Caroline’s dad both gave heartfelt speeches, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room for their dance sets. But after dinner, it was time to party!. Let’s just say, it’s a good thing Caroline’s dress was made for dancing! We stayed til the bitter end (cuz that’s how we roll) and love the shots of them exiting at the end of the night.

Thank you for having us capture your PAFA wedding. Enjoy the honeymoon in Bali!
