Laura + Dane | Penn State University
We met Laura while she (and we) were indulging ice cream near our booth at the winter Philadelphia Bridal Expo this past January. Needless to say, we knew we kinda liked her just based on the ice cream obsession alone. Then she and her fiance Dane visited our home studio for their consultation, and our orange kitty, Buster, fell in love with Dane (or was it the other way around?). During the consultation, Laura and Dane asked if we'd be willing to travel to Penn State (where they met) to shoot the engagement session, and of course being in the Big Ten family, we happily obliged.
Fast forward to a more appropriate ice-cream eating season, Laura and Dane settled on a perfect July day for their engagement. We found ourselves starting in a location out of the norm for an e-session: a fraternity house basement (that hadn't been fully cleaned out yet). But as it turns out, it was at this exact bar where Laura and Dane met when their respective fraternity and sorority had a date night. Not only did they recreate the location, but also the experience itself (a game called Fifth and a Friend).
After emerging from the site of brotherhood memories, we hit up all the couple's favorite campus locations, even visiting the Nittany Lion! Upon ending with some sweet shots by the stadium, Laura and Dane proudly donned their custom PSU jerseys, displaying their wedding date! Afterwards, we all indulged in ice cream together at Happy Valley's famous creamery, because when you're with Laura and Dane, that's just what you do: recreate the moment you met.
